Automobiles in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Local Police
Authorities mentioned they were alerted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Around fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they announced in a official communication.

Police state they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Officials state initial examinations show the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

City officials said they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the public for information.

A senior representative stated the incident left him without words and required to be resolved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist attack five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
